OTC Daihen Welding Robots: Single-Source Welding Automation
OTC Daihen is a global leader in arc welding robotics with more than 103 years of combined experience in welding and robotics. It is recognized as one of the world’s largest manufacturers of arc welding robots, with 1,300+ active patents, demonstrating its leadership in the welding arena.
OTC Daihen designs, builds, and integrates both the welding robot and the welding power source. This ensures optimized communication between the robot arm and arc control for superior weld quality. OTC Daihen offers free-for-life robotic programming training for FD Series customers. A unique benefit that reduces ongoing training costs as operators turn over or production requirements change.
Capital Machineis your source for OTC Daihen welding robots and Welbee power sources. We provide system integration, installation, training, and lifecycle service across our 22-state territory backed by our 40+-factory-trained field service engineers.
OTC Daihen FD Series Robots: 6-Axis and 7-Axis Models for Every Welding Application
OTC Daihen offers 6-axis and 7-axis industrial robotic arms for welding. A 6-axis robot offers human arm like motion with six degrees of freedom. The robot is restricted to an area withing its reach, as it operates from a fixed based. A 7-axis robot has an additional degree of freedom achieved by mounting it on a linear track. It can move horizontally and vertically along a straight path.
The OTC Daihen FD Series Robots have 6-axes and are designed to work in restricted spaces. They offer different payload capacities from 4kg (8.8lbs) to 350kg (771.6lbs) with reduced maintenance requirements. These welding robots are used for precision arc welding and material handling. The OTC Daihen FD-B Series 7-axis robots provide enhanced flexibility for reaching complex joint geometries and high-precision welding in confined spaces that 6-axis robots cannot access.
OTC Daihen also offers the FD-VC8 and VC8L collaborative welding robots. They are designed for applications where the robot works alongside human operators without traditional safety fencing. This combines collaborative safety features with industrial welding performance. Additional teaching options are also available, including a tablet-based platform.
Synchro Feed Evolution: OTC Daihen’s Ultra-Low Spatter Welding Technology
The Synchro Feed Evolution is OTC Daihen’s proprietary wire feeder technology that synchronizes wire feed motion with the welding arc transfer. This reverses wire direction during the short-circuit phase to produce ultra-low spatter welds with minimal to NO post-weld cleanup.
Reduced spatter means less grinding and cleaning time between operations, lower consumable waste, cleaner workpieces that require less preparation before painting or coating, and reduced maintenance on torch and contact tips. Synchro Feed technology is especially effective on thin-gauge materials where spatter control is critical, as well as on automotive-grade steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. The “Flat-Bead” process is unmatched when compared to traditional methods on welding galvanized coated steels.
OTC Daihen Pre-Engineered Welding Cells: Turnkey Systems for Fast Deployment
OTC Daihen’s pre-engineered welding cells are production-ready, turn-key robotic arc welding systems designed for rapid deployment, high-quality fabrication, and cost efficiency. These standardized configurations reduce lead time and engineering cost compared with custom systems.

Why Manufacturers Choose OTC Daihen for Robotic Welding
OTC Daihen offers single-source design, free-for-life programming training, Synchro Feed Evolution technology, and a broad range of welding technologies to tackle any application. OTC Daihen simplifies system integration as the robot and power source come from the same manufacturer. There are no compatibility layers, communication protocols to bridge, or finger-pointing between vendors when issues arise. Robotic welding systems typically deliver payback within 6 to 24 months, with OTC Daihen’s spatter reduction technology further improving returns through lower cleanup and consumable costs.
Installation, Training, and Lifecycle Support for OTC Daihen Systems
Capital Machine covers the full lifecycle support for OTC Daihen robot arm welding systems from application review, system specification, site survey, delivery and integration, calibration, first-article testing, and production ramp-up. We also offer condition-based maintenance, application support, break-fix service with parts-stocked vans, and system retrofits, all delivered by our 40+ factory-trained field service engineers across our 22-state territory.
