Data Center Fabrication Equipment

Equipment for Shops That Fabricate for Data Centers

Data center fabrication work requires special equipment and demands tight tolerances and fast turnaround to keep up with hyperscale data center build cycles. Data center infrastructure, such as server racks, enclosures, busway housings, cable management rails, cold and hot aisle containment, liquid-cooling manifolds connected to coolant distribution units (CDUs), and immersion systems are a few of the builds that require special data center fabrication equipment. The precision equipment that shops need is the same broad fabrication stack, but speed, repeatability, and finish quality matter more as burrs and edge quality that are invisible on structural work can scrap a precision rack panel.

Capital Machine supplies the full equipment stack for data center solutions work. We have Mazak fiber lasers, Accurpress press brakes, SafanDarley electric press brakes, Schroder precision folding technology, Messer plasma, and Yaskawa and OTC robotic welding for seamless integration. We also provide the advisory and service needed to keep fabricators scaling alongside their hyperscale customers.

Fiber Laser Cutting for Rack Panels, Enclosures, and Cable Management

Data center racks, rails, and panels are mainly cold-rolled steel, aluminum, and stainless in thin-to-mid gauges.

Mazak OPTIPLEX HP (4kW–30 kW) and EZ (4kW–8 kW) cover the range most fabricators of data center equipment need, with advanced protection from contamination in the cutting head and intelligent head technology that allows a less-skilled operator that ability to consistently cut precision parts across a wider variety of material and thicknesses. Cleaner edges from fiber laser reduce deburring time and welding preparation. This is critical when you're running thousands of rack-ready panels through a high-mix line.

Capital Machine offers shops a wide range of cutting equipment, such as laser, waterjet, shearing, plasma, and punching cutting systems.

Precision Press Brakes for Server Racks and Enclosures

Rack rails and enclosure bodies must stack precisely. Bend-angle repeatability matters more than on most structural work, since cumulative error across a 42U rack compounds quickly. Capital Machine provides the broadest range and most advanced bending solutions available on the market.

Our SafanDarley E-Brake features servo-electric power and is up to 30% faster than a conventional hydraulic press brake. The SafanDarley E-Brake Ultra has 50 tons–130 tons of bending precision and is a common pick for high-volume enclosure work where the electric platform's speed and consistency pay off fastest. These systems deliver the repeatability data center work needs.

Robotic Welding for High-Volume Rack and Cabinet Work

Repeating seams on rack frames, cabinet bodies, and cooling enclosures are ideal candidates for Capital Robotics Fusion Arc Robotic Welding cells which integrate Yaskawa Motoman or OTC Daihen robotic cells with advanced welding technology for “thin to thick” welding automation. The predictable weld paths and consistent fit-up are the baseline, not the exception. Capital Robotics' Fusion Arc welding cells with slot-and-tab construction deploy in compact footprints. This is useful when fabrication shops are already crowded by laser cells and press brakes.

We also offer shops cobots that can handle the high-mix/low-volume prototyping and small-run work that always accompanies a hyperscale program. Shops don't have to choose between manual and fully automated.

Plate and Tube Work for Cooling, Busway, and Immersion Systems

AI racks are pushing cooling work from traditional computer room air conditioner (CRAC) and computer room air handler (CRAH) assemblies toward liquid cooling. Direct-to-chip cold plate cooling now commands roughly 47% of the AI data center liquid cooling segment, and immersion cooling supports up to 150 kW per tank versus around 10 kW for traditional air-cooled racks.

Our metal fabrication plate rolling equipment will cover your shop's needs. We have Davi plate rolls with MAV 3-roll variable-axis and MCB 4-roll that can bend 3”–4” thick plate. These are the go-to machines for immersion tank shells and CDU pressure-vessel work. Capital Machine is Davi's strategic partner across the Southeast, Great Lakes, and Mid-Atlantic region.

Finishing, Powder Coating, and Part Handling

Powder coating and masking need to hit color-match and thickness specs precisely. Data center operation customers audit finish quality, not just function. Timesavers finishing equipment handles deburring and edge preparation between laser cutting and punching. This part-preparation step compounds into visible coating quality. Parts and components handling with conveyors, positioners, and cobot loading is where high-mix data center lines quietly lose throughput. Automating load/unload on the laser and press brake often pays back faster than adding another cell.

Certifications, Tolerances, and Compliance Your Customer Will Ask About

Data center customers typically require ISO 9001 at minimum with ITAR, NEBS, and EIA-310 rack compliance. Seismic qualification can come up on specific custom enclosures as well. Tolerance bands on rack rails, busway housings, and liquid-cooling manifolds for modern data centers are tighter than general fabrication work.

Your equipment's repeatability becomes a sales argument, not just a shop floor metric. Capital Machine's advisory team helps shops translate customer specifications into the equipment capability you'll need before you commit to a hyperscale data center program.

Service and Uptime When Hyperscale Deadlines Don't Wait

A down cell during a hyperscale drop window doesn't just miss a shipment. It can push out an entire building's commissioning schedule. This is where Capital Machine has your shop covered. We operate the largest dedicated sheet metal fabrication and press brake service network in the U.S. We have 43 factory trained field service and preventive maintenance engineers with parts-stocked trucks ready to service your manufacturing equipment across our 22-state territory.

We offer shops a condition-based preventive maintenance program as well. We perform oil sampling twice per year to detect wear patterns and fluid degradation before it escalates into unplanned failures. This data-driven approach replaces the traditional calendar-based oil change model with targeted interventions.

We offer six core service categories: break-fix repairs, condition-based maintenance and preventative maintenance, installation supervision, operator training and retraining, application support and retrofits. For more information visit our full-service page.

Scaling Up: From First Program to Full Hyperscale Line

Capacity additions are a CFO conversation as much as an Operations one. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act permanently restored 100% bonus depreciation and raised Section 179 to $2.5 million as of July 2025.

This can shift payback of equipment forward when purchases align with year-end planning. Before buying, audit arc-on time, laser utilization, and press brake setup time of equipment. Most shops have meaningful hidden capacity in equipment they already own.

Capital Machine's unique advisory process includes evaluating current production bottlenecks, projecting capacity needs, and recommending technology-matched solutions that meet your shop's application needs.

We are dealer, service provider, and value-added distributor that not only has the top-of-the-line machines for sale, but we also provide comprehensive services that keep equipment working.

We are your shop's partner for installing your equipment, training your operators and servicing your entire line of equipment. Our installation process includes a pre-install site survey, machine calibration, first-run testing, and operator sign-off that covers all safety systems. We ensure your equipment is up and running so you do not lose valuable production time. Contact us today to learn more.
