Yaskawa Welding Robots for Industrial Automation

Yaskawa Welding Robots: Industry-Leading Robotic Arms for Automated Arc Welding

Yaskawa Motoman is a world leading manufacturer of industrial robots, with more than 600,000 robotic units installed globally. Yaskawa Motoman offers a comprehensive lineup of 6-axis arc welding, spot welding, and collaborative welding robots.

Yaskawa welding robots support metal inert gas (MIG) welding, gas metal arc welding (GMAW), tungsten
inert gas (TIG) welding, gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), plasma, and other welding processes. Yaskawa robots offer optimized motion profiles, high-speed performance, and slim designs that allow close-proximity placement in dense workcell configurations.

Yaskawa’s Universal Weldcom Interface (UWI) simplifies integration with third-party welding equipment, allowing manufacturers to pair a Yaskawa robot with their preferred power source, while maintaining seamless communication between robot and arc control.

Capital Machine is your authorized source for Yaskawa welding robots. We provide not just the robot, but complete system integration with an array of power sources, Fusion Arc weld cells, and positioners.

Yaskawa AR Series: The Workhorse of Robotic Arc Welding

Capital Machine offers the full Yaskawa AR Series lineup for welding robots. The AR series features slim profile arm designs that allow robots to be placed in close proximity to each other and to workpieces. This enables high-density workcell layouts and access for robotic welding robot to tight joint geometries that bulkier robots cannot reach.

The AR series also features optimized acceleration and deceleration controls that maximize throughput by minimizing non-welding motion time as the welding robot moves quickly between weld points and settles rapidly for precise arc welding starts.

Yaskawa AR Series Robots

  • AR1440 Robot

A versatile robot workhorse with a slim profile, 1,440mm reach, and 12kg payload.

  • AR2010 Robot

Featuring an extended 2,010mm reach for larger workpieces.

  • AR3120 Robot

Featuring the longest reach at 3,124mm with 20kg payload.
(I would remove those other arms as they are rarely used)

Capital Machine carries the full Yaskawa AR Series, allowing our technical team to match the right model to each customer’s workpiece size, weld access requirements, and cell configuration.

Yaskawa Collaborative Welding Robots: HC Series for Human-Robot Welding

Yaskawa offers the HC10XP and HC20 Series of collaborative arc welding robots, or cobots, which are designed to work alongside human operators without traditional safety fencing, using force-limiting technology that stops the robot on contact. Shops with limited floor space or no room for safety enclosures will benefit from these contact robots. Operations that require frequent human interaction with the workpiece between weld passes and facilities that want to introduce robotic welding gradually without a full cell investment will also benefit too. A new 30kg payload and reach arm is now also available.

Cobots trade some speed and payload for flexibility and accessibility. They are best suited for lighter-duty welding applications with moderate production volumes, while high-volume or heavy-duty applications typically benefit from traditional Yaskawa AR Series robots in enclosed cells.

Capital Machine is your resource for welding automation. We will help you in evaluating cobots versus traditional industrial robots. Our technical teams can help you assess robot specifications, working range, and performance to see if a cobot approach will work best.

Complete Yaskawa Welding Systems From Robot to Ready-to-Weld Cell

A Yaskawa welding robot alone is just one component. Capital Machine integrates these welding robots with OTC Daihen Welbee, Miller , as well as other power sources, welding torches, wire feeders, positioners, and safety enclosures to create complete, ready-to-weld systems.

Our proprietary Fusion Arc weld cells are a turnkey solution. They feature pre-engineered cells, such as the Fusion Arc 100 through Fusion Arc 300, are paired with Yaskawa robots, and matched to power sources in
common base construction for rapid deployment.

The integration of the robot, power source, positioner, and controller are specifically configured as a system, so they communicate seamlessly. This eliminates compatibility issues, programming workarounds, and service complexities that arise when combining components from different vendors.

Capital Machine provides complete system support of all industrial robots through our 40+ factory-trained field service engineers across our 22-state territory covering the Y Fusion Arc cell as a single service relationship.
