High-Power Fiber Laser Cutting Built for Thick Materials

The Mazak OPTIPLEX HP is a high-performance 2D fiber laser-cutting system engineered for fast, stable, and high-quality processing of thick materials. Available with 15kW, 20kW, and 30kW Mazak SmoothCUT fiber laser technology, the OPTIPLEX HP combines advanced beam performance with Mazak’s GRAND CUT processing technology to deliver reliable cutting across a wide range of material thicknesses.

Mazak’s GRAND CUT technology improves the cutting process by increasing the temperature of molten material, helping produce cleaner, more consistent cut surfaces. The system can continuously process mild steel up to 2 inches thick while minimizing cutting defects. When processing 1-inch mild steel, the OPTIPLEX HP can also achieve significantly improved cut perpendicularity compared to conventional systems.

Wide sliding doors on the front and side of the machine provide generous access to the cutting area while minimizing the floor space required for door operation. This open design makes it easier for operators to load raw material, remove completed parts, and access the machine during setup and production.

The MAZATROL SmoothLx CNC control features dual 21.5-inch displays, an intuitive touchscreen interface, one-touch access to commonly used functions, and operator-assistance tools that simplify machine setup. The rotating and tilting control panel allows operators to work comfortably from either the front or side of the machine.

Additional technology—including an integrated nozzle camera and optional Camera Network Nesting—helps operators complete nozzle-center adjustments and maximize the use of remnant material. The OPTIPLEX HP can also be incorporated into automated systems that support material loading, laser processing, tapping, part sorting, and other production processes.
