MACHINE DESCRIPTION

The Mazak OPTIPLEX 4020 BEVEL is a high-power fiber laser-cutting system designed to complete both traditional 2D cutting and bevel cutting on a single machine.

By integrating these processes, the OPTIPLEX BEVEL eliminates the need to move material to separate equipment for secondary beveling or manual edge preparation. This reduces material handling, setup time, and overall lead times while improving workpiece positioning accuracy for downstream welding and assembly.

A multi-axis articulating cutting head provides up to ±45 degrees of movement and supports a variety of bevel profiles, including V-, Y-, X-, and K-type cuts. This flexibility allows manufacturers to select the bevel angle and profile that best match the material, application, and welding requirements.

The machine is equipped with Mazak’s proprietary 20kW SmoothCUT fiber laser oscillator. The laser beam is optimized specifically for bevel-cutting applications, helping the machine deliver productive and consistent processing across various material thicknesses.

Mazak’s SmoothBEVEL CNC control manages the entire process—from programming and bevel assignment to nesting optimization. The 21.5-inch widescreen control uses an intuitive interface and pictograms to simplify operation. Integrated CAD/CAM functions allow operators to draw or import parts, assign bevels, and create simple nests directly at the machine.

The fully enclosed cutting area helps reduce noise and dust during processing, supporting a cleaner and more controlled production environment.
